Being a single chid of the parents :
I have heard people often say " You are lucky , you are the only child of your parents".Is it so ?
The general understanding is the single child gets more attention from the parents and their entire earning is only for him/her. Moreover he gets undivided love and affection from them.Does this alone makes him lucky ?
There is an other side too :
Everything is fine until he is in home under the cover of parents who take every care for his welfare. But the problems start when he comes out to the society to face the world all alone.
He has never felt brotherhood and he has grown up alone ,without learning adjusting in small things to others and believes his thoughts are right always and whatever he desires has to be acquired. In times when things does not go his way ,he suffers from depression.Initially he suffers very much before coming in terms with the reality.
There is one more , too much of affection(anbu thollai) .Sometimes its becaue of being only child one is forced by affection to stay along with parents and loses all the chances of exploring this vast world and result : misses all the required exposure.
Moreover , if the previous generation is also single child ,he loses all important relatives.(Sometimes relatives do play important role ..)
Its not always lucky to be a single child , there is the other side of the coin too.
PS:This is not the case everywhere , there may be few exceptions.

Support In Spore
The infrastructure here is mind blowing .. We cant even compare it to our premier insti's.. It was yesterday afternoon when our professor sent two students to meet us.They were just ninth grade students. They were getting support from the NUS through some Science Devp program.Though he was bit nervous to us , he had done some imageprocessing in matlab. He had used two cameras to capture the live images of human, and used it to predict the stability of a person. He was explaining all the Kd,Kp etc that we read atleast only in the second yr of UG. I couldnt believe that a 9th grader was doing all this in this place , all the equipments and the guidance was provided by the varsity.See the support one gets if he has interest alone.
And more than that , prof took us to the singapore polytechnic; the campus by itself didnt give a feel it was a poly(like ours);and moreover most of the rooms were airconditioned ( too much for an polytechnic ).The students there were more better..A guy (Mingdo) there was too ambitious ; he planned to develop a serpentine robot and the funding for that was a whooping 15000 singapore dollar..God !!! we get only a paltry5k for even our FYP. I couldnt digest this for long time until i realized that we were living in INDIA , with so much problems to concentrate upo , this was not feasible !!!

First day in Spore - The Spaghetti,Miniskirt and THE NUS
From the moment i landed in the airport, I was amazed at the the neatness of the place
I expected the magnificent buildings and perfect roads, but what amazed me was the way in which the people here followed the rules.
I started in pursuit of NUS from my cousin's place. It was a long travel and i caught a subway(MRT) for the first part of the journey.
In MRT there was no driver and the automatic ticket generators were the first glimpses of technology put into use for public. The machine could recogonize all the different coins n even the currency.Even though the crowd was big( greater than our chennai trains) everyone moved on silently without any fuss.I had to take a bus to the engineering drive in the huge campus ( NITT cant even be compared) .
There was no bus available that time and sitting in the bus stop, time raced off as mini skirt gulz walk past frequently.
Somehow got a bus to engineering drive on the way, the tennis courts and the well maintained grounds and not the least the buildings, they were simply mindblowing.
As soon as i got down , an incident made stomachs burn!! One was waiting in bus stop and one got down from the bus and started k****.. Pavam i couldn't bear with it.
Inside the buildings were even better, lifts at each turn finally reached my destination The Control And Simulation lab. MSK showed the workin of the HUMANOID, my first experience with them.
In the lab, saw that the experiments B.Tech ppl were doing as their regular labs were more than what we would do as our FYP..
Next the usual thing , i found a computer with high speed internet(15Mbps) started chattin and vetti putting..
Some time passed off, stomach tickled..In the canteen chinese and western cuisine was the cheaper, not knowing what to order,I chose some random one.. It was a Sphagetti meal(!!!!). The person in the counter was Chinese,so it took a hell a lot of time trying to get him take the order .. It was some 2.80$ and i gave him a 50$ currency..
He got to the point askin when did i come to spore, and then he started giving ideas of NUS..I told him i was from India,Chennai thinking he wud know the place easily..He started askin " Is Madras near that one, It is a very good place " (He knew only that name in India)..It took my entire energy to make him understand..
At last he gave the meal, there were arbid stuff on the plate,I was confused as which one to use spoon and which one fork and knife..and the taste was too horrible,I had to finsh it off at least for the money i paid..(no more unknown food)..
After meet the prof(again japnese).. freaked out into the hostels..Again they were too good,They were like big apartments , entry allowed only with a wireless transponder..
In the late evening we sneaked in to the LITTLE INDIA,everything looked Indian except the cost of items.....But one thing was too much, the waiter got our order on a PDA , it was read in the kitchen through wi-fi and some other guy gave our dishes, this was excess use of tech...
AH!!Got the first taste of Singapore, whatever i could get was the MiniSkirt ladies everywhere and the outstandin respect for the rulez ..
